We have a great and wonderful God. Of course not everyone would agree with me on this point but in as much as a person can know of such things, I know and am convinced that our God is even greater and more wonderful than we can even imagine. Our title is “How Great Thou Art”. The same as the song we find in our Hymn books and oh how true it is. God’s power and might and majesty are revealed in His creation. The universe is bigger than we can see or even imagine, it contains more worlds than we could even count. The Earth itself could not hold all the books it would take to describe the information contained in the visible universe. Yet this is only a small remnant of God’s realm. The unseen, that which the Bible refers to as the spiritual world, is God’s dwelling place and the spiritual world puts this carnal, physical world to shame by comparison. God is master of all, creator of all things through Jesus, all knowing. He exists everywhere at the same time. He is all powerful. In spite of God’s unlimited power and might, He is a God of love and compassion and a God of justice. He is present with us in our minds and hearts and knows when we are hurt or in pain. He feels our heartaches, our despair, our every need. |
God made us for the specific purpose of recognizing and serving Him, yet for all His superiority over us He will not force us to do anything. How easy it would be for Him to have us all marching to His tune but God will not exercise this advantage He has over us. It is obvious that this world goes on day by day missing the whole point of there being a world at all. We are not here simply to fulfill our individual goals and wishes. To get the best job. To make a lot of money. To live in a fine house. To achieve power or fame or any such thing. We are here to praise our Lord and Creator. To fulfill His desires in our lives and to bring Him whatever honor and recognition we can in so doing securing God’s approval and blessings upon ourselves as well. If God is not in your life He should be. Without Him we are useless creatures who have not found our place. Struggling to achieve some personal goal which even if reached has no lasting reward. Only God holds the future. A future with Him holds all good possibilities. Without Him we are nothing.
