Message From The Scriptures

Following The Pattern

by: Randall Phipps

The best way for us to describe ourselves is simply to say that we are Christians (Acts 11:26). We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that through Him any person can be saved by obeying the Gospel. We have no tie to any religious denomination for we are simply a group of people who have joined together to follow Jesus Christ. Our aim is to be like the first Christians and the Church that you read about in the New Testament. By following the pattern of the Church as set forth in the New Testament we are the same thing that existed in the first century. Therefore, we are neither Protestant nor Catholic, but just Christians, as were those in the first century. Our work centers around the spiritual concerns of man to know God and turn from sin. We have no man made creeds, by-laws, nor do we belong to any conventions or associations. Our only guide is the Bible. We believe it to be God’s message to mankind. We teach and practice only what the Bible authorizes. Our desire is to lay aside the religious traditions of men and allow the Bible to govern us in all things (2 John 9).

Our goal is to please God and by using His Word this way we can be assured of His approval. The only thing we seek from you is an honest examination and investigation to see if we are proclaiming the true Gospel of Christ and that our practices harmonize with the Bible.

You may have questions about what you have observed, please feel free to ask any of us about anything you may not understand. An honest discussion will only benefit us all. We want to be right with our Creator and encourage others to be also.

Our goal is not to entertain but to offer praise, thanksgiving, and honor to our God. People need direction for their lives and the Bible has been given to us for that very reason.

Our aim is to have sermons that are true to the Bible, easy to understand, and relevant to everyday life. The sermons are not intended to soothe the conscience of people but their purpose is to glorify God and supply people with the spiritual guidance they need. We all must follow the examples of the early Christians by contending earnestly for The Faith which was Once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3).

When the pattern for the Church in the New Testament is followed, the same Church exists today. God never intended that there be more than one Church (Eph. 4:4-5). Men have made their own conditions of entrance into their own churches while the Lord has set forth His own terms of entrance into His Church (Matt. 16:18) Do you want to hear the truth or follow some popular movement? Friend, which church are you a member of? The one that Christ built, that wears Christ’s name and follows His doctrine or one that man has built, wearing some man’s name (Matt. 16:18).

Are you in the Church that Jesus built? Are you sure?
